Mission
Work flows when trust does.
Africa's informal services market is alive, large, and under-structured. A carpenter may be excellent, but still struggle to prove reputation in a new area. A mother may need help today, but hesitate to pay a stranger upfront.
Oja changes this. With WhatsApp as the interface, AI as the matchmaker, and blockchain as the record-keeper, we are building a marketplace where trust is built, recorded, and owned by the people who earn it.

Our story
Built from real market conversations.
The company was not born from a whiteboard fantasy. It grew from months of listening to the people who hire and the people who work, then shaping a product around the friction they all kept describing.

The Idea
Wazobia Technologies identified a simple problem hiding in plain sight: people could find help, but they could not reliably trust who showed up, what was agreed, or how payment would be protected.

The Research
The team spent months interviewing providers and seekers across Lagos and Johannesburg. More than 200 conversations later, the pattern was obvious: trust, not supply, was the bottleneck.
2026 Q1
Building Oja
Development began on the Oja platform with Oja as the WhatsApp assistant, reputation as a durable record, and escrow as the safety net for both sides of the market.
2026 Q3
Lagos Launch
Oja begins with the first 1,000 users in Lagos and expands carefully from there, learning from real transactions instead of assumptions.
